Frequently Asked Questions

1. How large are the classes?
a. Classes are no larger than 15 students in order to ensure that each student receives the necessary attention and care. One on one tutoring is also available to anyone wishing for a more intensive study. However, each class must have at least 10 students and be signed up for at least 10 prepaid hours to hold a spot in your child's school.

2. What type of students study through A.C.E.?
a. All kinds! A.C.E. offers programs through schools, private instruction, business programs, and ESL classes. Any language you can imagine we can find an instructor for!

3. How is class time spent?
a. Depending on the program, class is a mix of language immersion, games, culture, music, and hands on activities. Private instruction can be structured to fit each individual depending on what they wish to get out of the program.

4. What is the difference between the Song and Dance program and the School Based Program?
a. The Song and Dance Program incorporates song and dance into learning the history and culture of various different countries and cultures. Language instruction isn't emphasized as it is in the School Based Programs.

5. How do I know my kids are safe while participating through this program?
a. We only hire professional teachers who are native speakers or have the equivalent skills. We ensure safety to students through extensive background checks of each instructor, conducting the program on school grounds, and continuous checks and balances of the instructor and the curriculum.

6. How does the Summer Language Camp work?
a. Summer Language Camps include a mix of educational events and field trips. In the classroom students will learn a new language through: games, physical activities, crafts, songs, and cultural projects. Each week of camp will focus on a new theme and children may go on guided field trips to local museums, parks, and recreational sites. Camps usually run for two weeks and hours usually are from 9am until 3pm, with the extended classes usually running from 9am until 5pm. These times and durations are subject to change each year and for each camp.

7. Who do I contact if I want to get this program started at my child's school?
a. If you are interested in getting any of these programs started at your child's school simply contact the area coordinator in your area, or simply email Maka at the Seattle office. There are also brochures and flyers attached on the School Based Programs page so that you can print them off and bring them to the next PTA meeting or run it by the principal. If you need any other materials, contact us and we would be happy to help you.
