The Run About the World Fun Run is an annual event that benefits A.C.E. World Language & Culture Ambassadors (WLCA), an enrichment program that prepares youth to engage with the world by offering foreign language and cultural instruction to elementary and middle school students. The 2013 event raised $6,272 to be used towards scholarships and discounts for 22 new students on free/reduced lunch to enroll in A.C.E. WLCA classes. Big thanks to all of our sponsors, participants, volunteers and donors who made this all possible!

The Run About the World 2013 5K Run/Walk brought out over 200 participants and volunteers on a beautiful October morning. The course began at Gas Works Park where Nicole Nazzaro with the Wellness Playbook got everyone warmed up before they headed out along the gorgeous Cheshiahud Lake Union trail. A view of the vibrant International Festival could be seen as participants narrowed in on the finish line. As they crossed the finish line a crowd of A.C.E. international students and staff were there to cheer them on!
The Run About the World held a successful International Festival at the finish line in Lake Union Park. There was Japanese origami, Iranian picture books and Persian calligraphy, Peruvian weaving, Day of the Dead skeleton craft, Saudi Arabian calligraphy, Salvadorian and Guatemalan flag craft, Cycle of the Salmon beading activity and a performance by the Shooting Stars Ensemble. It was truly a global experience!
